Portrait study in charcoal

Critiques and feedbacks are much appreciated.
I really like the control and thoughtfulness of the line weight on the outer edges. Maybe darken the forehead as it wraps around to the right. Overall I think you've done really nice work.
Like others have said, there is not much to critique on a grand scale, merely minor details. The only two things that stand out to me are the beard right at the chin seems a bit flat. The rest of the hair has some highlights to give a bit more depth. The other area is where the inner part of the eyebrows meet at the glabella. The one on the left eye (our left) has a distinct corner but the right eye (our right) is rounded. If I am imagining looking at the face from a frontal view, it seems like they will not match.
All of that said, fantastic study. Hopefully I will get there some day :-)
Hey there! Wonderful work!
I think the ears got a bit too little attention compared to the other parts of the image, I think you should focus on it a bit more.
To make this picture even better I think you should darken the overall values, and exaggerate your lightest lights and your speculars.
I attached an example.
Hope I could help! Keep up the good work mate!
Omkar,
Wow this is a really great study! The structure is really solid and the values look very nice. The transitions are handled really well and I also enjoy how you follow the form while you shade, maybe that’s more of a personal taste thing but I think that really shows you paying attention to what exactly is going on with what you’re looking at under the surface.
You did ask for a critique however, and it would be a disservice for me to give you nothing to work from (even though this is truly a solid study in the first place)! To me there is always something to be taken to the next level. If I’m being super picky, and like I mean super picky, the few very small thing that stand out most to me is the neck area.
Perhaps this Abe Lincoln looking gentleman has a neck beard which for surely make it very dark, but even so I lose something about the neck. However, it could be the more simplified collar of the clothes right at the transition of collar to neck. This is a study of the face so I can understand why you’d spend less time in that area, but like I said, if I’m being picky something in this area seems maybe too oversimplified in comparison to the rest or maybe it needs just a very very light reflective shadows to very subtly show some semblance of neck beard (I’m talking like so light you barely tickle the paper with the tip of a bbq skewer), or a little more work just at the collar area just to impress a tiny bit more form.
Like I said, I am just going out of my way to look for something as you asked for feedback. Super job on this, I’m really impressed at the handling.

Hey Omkar! As everyone else said, great job! Not much to critique here, this is a really strong study.
Based on my own personal taste, something I might have done would be bringing back the darks a bit in the nose area, and the hair. My thinking is that the hair being so black pulls my eyes away from the face. That's just my taste though!
Again, great job!
Omkar,
Really solid effort here. Great value control you've really used the full range to turn those forms . There's not a lot to critique here, but I feel that maybe the overall egg effect of the head could be pushed by bring darkening the far side of the head. The forehead especially could roll more to create that volume.
Additionally I would love to see more form in the beard. Some type of highlights to indicate activity there would add a lot. These are minor critiques.
Really excellent job on the facial forms, the likeness is clear. Great work.
Don't forget to sign it! It's worth putting your name on it. :)
