(2) This was a fun and challenging section of the course. Would appreciate constructive feedback but if there's something I got right, I'd really like to know both the positive and negative. Looking forward to the rest of the course, thanks!

I don't have too much constructive to say, I just think those boxes look so beautiful ! I love their construction and the weight they give. I really like the third image the boxes feel like they actually take up space and are solid, and the contour lines you added really convey the intended flow and movement of the pose. Really beautiful shapes . I really like the blue ones a bit better since they contrast with the light pages a bit better on my digital monitor and make everything easier to see, but maybe that's just me :-) I guess one thing that I notice is that in some of your poses with twists - the lines around midsection don't always show as much twist / overlap as I would imagine, like in the second-to-last image - maybe bring those contour lines out a little more, and show more of the twist with them? (it might also be too light for me to see it properly). Maybe another way to think of it - to me, the boxes feel _really_ solid, but the midsection feels like it's not really there , or the lines are so light they feel like spider webs instead of connections. I think maybe strengthening the midsection lines will make the robo bean feel like a connected form instead of two disjoint boxes. I'm just in awe of these gorgeous boxes :-P Great work!

Hi all! First post .. Love the community! Hoping to get some tips on gesture. I've been practicing gesture drawing, but I'm having trouble depicting the motion, rhythm and flow cleanly with my lines. I want to produce cleaner lines, but I'm having a difficult time figuring out how to depict the motion using my lines without making a lot of marks with the pen. My proportions/anatomy are still off, I'm learning that now. Anyone know of some great gesture artists that I could study from ? Any exercises for creating CSI curves that really show flow and motion + rhythm ? Any tips appreciated!

I'm not at all qualified to give any real feedback, but I like these gestures a lot. I find the capture the story the pose is trying to tell.

The reason you draw scratchy lines is that you are unsure of yourself with where each line should go. So you go through this phase in thinking of, "Is it here? Here? Or Here?" Take the time to analyze the figure. Ghost, and draw long, smooth, fluid lines. Using your elbow/arm will help you here with a greater range of motion. Get out of the habit of drawing scratchy quickly. As time goes on you will have greater hand-eye coordination, confidence, and understanding of line weight. As you continue to practice your gestures refer back to Stan's first two videos multiple times. Try them out yourself, look at how he draws, draw with him, and finally draw it yourself and compare. It is very important to keep your lines clean for readability. Your small repetitive chicken scratches create a chaotic and confusing image. Your cross contours serve no purpose but add to the chaos. Your last image is the best out of all of them. Keep on practicing. Good luck to you.
