Likeness is great. Look into cool colours for the shadows. Bottom could have a little bit more work on the form so it looks like you're more angled. Super tempting to add reflections to the eyes, because they look great, but your likeness is so strong I think it distracts from the face (this is subjective though). I did a quick paintover to show you what I mean. Thank you for taking the time to touch up the painting. It really helped me see the points you are making.

It's spot on. Feelings are hard, it may need a story/scene to help evoke. Its professional standard. How to make it better is subjective and based on the style you're looking to achieve.

Thank you. It's been a while since I posted my work, but your comment made my day then. "Professional standard" is great to hear.

The fact that you're asking this question is actually a really good thing. It means that your visual library or sense of what's good has outgrown your ability. Worst thing you can do as a professional is to look at your work and fall in love with it. Seems like you're transitioning out of this phase and as crappy as it feels, every professional goes through it.

Hey guys! I just want to post some of my Bird drawings using spheres, cylinders, and boxes indicated in the lesson. Tell me what you think of them and how could I further improve on these. I highly appreciate your constructive feedback! :)

They're pretty close, but I would flip the images and see if you can get a fresh look at the proportions. (this can help reset your brain and look at the drawings with no bias). Have a close look at the owl head size and placement and the body of the bird.

Tried to get as many references with different shapes and colours to practice colour selection. Created in procreate. Giants causeway I was a little lazy with the shapes. Rhyolid Mountains was the most challenging because of the variability of colour.
