Asked for help
Hi, everyone! I've been doing the figure drawing course for almost 2 months and it's been really helpful. I realized most of my past drawings were filled with mistakes regarding motion and force. Now I feel a bit more confident with the results I'm getting and way more motivated to keep on practicing. Anyways, I'd appreciate some critique with these 30 sec - 1 min sketches I've done within the last week. I feel my proportions are off and I'm using too many lines. Thanks in advance!

Hello. I'm also taking the figure drawing course. After looking at your drawings, I don't think you're using too many lines. However, some of the lines you chose don't really work with the rest of the image. But these are not meant to be finished drawings. An example of what I mean: the upper left arm and shoulder of image 1 are rather bulbous. While the rest of the image is not. Image 7 appears to be the same model, yet in this one you used a gentle sweeping line for the arm that works much better. Image 2 has a wonderful twist to the torso and perspective to the right leg. Yet I find the line from the neck around the left breast distracting. I think taking that line from under the breast to the left armpit instead would have flowed better and continued the gesture through the extended arm. On a whole, I think you've captured the gesture of each pose. Proportions will come, so don't fret too much about those. Again. These are sketches and practice.
