My work for today. Any feedbacks are welcome
Jesper Axelsson
Hi @Bubble Gum, I think the gesture is great in these! I can tell that you've been thinking about the river analogy. It almost feels like the figures are animated. In #6 for example, I can really feel how the body is about to fold together toward the ground. - Try to build the figure with more clearly designed pieces, like a mannequin (Mannequinization – Structure of the Human Body ). Check out some of @Diego Lucia's drawings for inspiration. - I think you would benefit from drawing with more confident lines. It would be interesting to see you do some gesture drawings with an unerasble medium, such as ink, where you let the first line you put down be the one you use. Tag me if you want me to take a look. Pencil technique in short: Draw from your shoulder Be relaxed You could ghost the line you want to attempt then put down the line with confidence (It's easy to panic and tense up here, but stay relaxed as if you were a line master) But don't expect accuracy; that comes with practice But I think the correct relaxed technique should be there from the start - What's your goal? Do you want to do animation, comics, realistic figure drawing, or something else? Start to copy drawings of artists you admire💪 You'll learn a lot about how you could design your drawings. I hope this helps :) Keep up the good work!

Robo bean for today. Any feedback would be appreciated. :)

I'm practicing with Robo bean and I have the most trouble with this pose so far so any feedback would be appreciated. :)

Here is my quick attempt. I got a bit carried away, and did more than just the robo-bean.

Good try. You've got the figure pushing away from you towards the head and feet. Her bottom is the closest to the camera, which makes an interesting, and difficult foreshortening problem. I'll give this a 5-10 minute try and post my attempt later today. A couple of things: 1. I try to be careful when I draw, not to make impressions so deep that they bleed over to the next sheet. If I mar the paper below it, I throw it away. Those invisi-lines distract me. 2. Gesture must take priority over volume. Sometimes I want to draw the robo-bean like an alphabetical symbol instead of a group of interlocking shapes. The gesture helps me discover what's actually going on in the pose. Anyway, look for my attempt (after I'm done with my homework) :).

I think the pelvis is rotated only a little bit and the pinch is maybe a bit stronger.

Gesture drawing for today using the poses from this & the next video
Bubble Gum
My homework for structure basics. I'm following draw a box course which got me eating enough boxes already so forgive me if I only draw cylinders. The last animal is supposed to be tigers but what I draw looks more like wolfs and dogs

2022/05/21 Gesture drawing for today. There's no time limit because I want to apply the information from both the bean & landmark videos. Also no revision as well ;)

I think I get the hang of twisting poses now. I will try to incorporate these into gesture drawings tomorrow

Some twisting poses I did today. I may get the overlap of some beans wrong & for Pose 9 I hope I did not exaggerate the bean too much
