Here's my initial responses to the assignment. I tried to keep on message and just restricted myself to crops—I usually find that these initial ideas will prompt more ideas as I go along.

I have added new guys to a Patrol Field crew. Guess it's time now to kill some darling and decide which one should go on with more studies. If I have to choose only one, I think I would go on with the scorpio grape, seems like something that could bring nice shapes to the table.

Love the inventiveness in these drawings

Just watched the quick-sketch assignment video—really helpful to see Stan drawing alongside the model—here's my attempts, which I found more challenging than expected. I can see I might not have got the motion quite in the way Stan describes—any feedback would be most welcome

These are amazing gesture studies @Peter Richardson, I really like the looseness and 'flowy' feel to your sketches. The only critique that I can think of is that it seems like you currently rely on circular shapes for your torso and limbs. I can see a lot of your sketches where you apply design principles such as straights vs curves, complex vs simple, etc. However, there are a few sketches where I think some of these concepts got away from you, and I think the shape design of some of your torsos/limbs was hampered a bit by the fact that you were using a circular shape. Since it doesn't seem too consistent, I'd say just be aware of this fact, and try to intentionally add big straights to contrast some of the curves in your figures. Great work! Let me know if there is anything that I can clear up for you

You're never too old to brush up on your learning. I've been drawing ever since my chubby little mitts could first grasp a pencil. Had a lot of fun over the years being paid to do what I love most. Anatomy is still something I am struggling to master—looking forward to getting to be part of the community here.
