This is a lot more difficult than it looks... some more practice is needed.

Hm... I don't think I got the gist of this exercise yet. I need to focus on even simpler forms.

Excellent. They look really good to me.

Hmmm... bean salad. I honestly liked drawing these, though I did feel like I've exaggerated a bit too much on some. Gotta practice the twist a bit more (no I won't dance) Critique is always welcome!

Your beans are nice. I notice some beans have scratcy lines, Good job though.

More two minute sketches. I seriously think these are much worse than my 30 second sketches. It feels like the more time Ive got to think the worse I get. Should I study more proportions?

hello friend your drawing is great, i bellive by just practicing you can achieve great success, but if i could give you a few advise it would be 1-try to first draw the model pose in vid stan draws, your self ,then try to draw it again following stan step by step, then do small criticization on your drawing and then draw pose again in 2 mints if you dont like stan s gesture you can search for people that you like and study them as well 2-dont do that always to try to put 70-90% 0f your time just drawing. lastly you can start to change the gesture style ,you draw after 1000hours of learning anatomy and character design and ... so dont be so cautious about if its copying other people or that you want to be original later on, you will find you tempo and style for now just try to study.

Things I've learned: 1 If I get the feeling behind the pose it's way easier to draw the gesture 2 Drawing gesture while also thinking about proportions is really difficult. I feel like my 30 second sketches end up being way more loose and capture the movement better since I don't think about proportion at all Any critique is welcome as always.

Nice flow in your linework

This has been kind of devastating for me as I've taken other courses on other sites, but never dabbled in gesture drawing. I feel like there's something I'm not getting, or do I just need to keep practicing? One of my biggest issues is that on demonstrations the drawings look well proportioned, but all of mine, particularly those where the character is bending in an unusual way the body looks kind of horrifyingly misshapen. Any advice for what I'm doing wrong/right? Ways to improve? Also, I think the lines are really light, so apologies for that. I think I'll use a darker pencil in future. Thanks.

Something that has helped me in keeping my proportions (sort of) right is to draw one big overarcing action line and then drawing two lines indicating the shoulderline and the waist. This roughly halves my action line (since leg length is about half the body length).

Hello, I’ve just gotten back into drawing after more than a decade. Some I drew on top of others, so I don’t know how clearly it will read. Any critique would be welcome, I feel like I’m doing something wrong but I don’t know what.

I think they're fairly decent. But I do notice a lot of repeating lines. Maybe try making a single stroke to show motion instead of doing multiple? Overall you've captured the flow of the poses very well!
@nusso
Day 2 - more gestures. This time I had 2 minutes per sketch. Looking back I think I should've thought more before starting to draw on a gesture.

Asked for help
Been drawing for about 3 years now but I've been stuck recently so I wanted to study from scratch, so I got a bunch of lessons! Did these in 1 hour.
