Thanx so much for the feedbacks. You pointed out things I didn't even realised I was doing and how much it was taking me off course! The whole hour was very useful. Cheers!

Thought I'd post all the steps of this project.
I'm sorry about the quality of photos of my earlier drafts, I'm still struggling to figure out how to photograph drawings, especially bigger ones and in light pencil... any advice on that will be very welcome.
And, of course, any feedback on the drawing itself :)
I wish a could see more of the notes you took to get to your final work. I feel I could learn a bunch from you. Thanks for sharing your awesome work !
Nice job on this on. I’m studying how you did the eye sockets cause that’s something I struggled with. They looked so out of place when I drew them and in your drawing they work and somehow even suggest volume to the face.

Fun assignement. I used a fountain pen to ink them. I explored and pushed some lines quite far. In the near future, I would like to become efficient with digital tools though. But traditional works very well for me.

Another go at simplifying a portrait to 5 values, straight lines, and hard edges. I love the posterized look these studies have. And it's a brilliant exercise.

Latest Praying mantis. My lines are getting better the more familiar i get with the subject.
I really like how the ink lines and pencil lines look together, somehow complementing each other. Very cool

I gave it a try both on paper and digitally. It seems quite flat to me ... probably my lines are all quite similar
Both are interesting to me. Paper version stands out more. Is it the use of more contrasts? White reserves.... Thanks for sharing

Sadly my sketching abilities cant match the concept design. I share this and go back to sketch from observation. Cheers!

I backtracked a bit. I felt I needed to work on those a bit more. Here are some new sketches from observation.
