Hello, this is my first try to do gesture studies with clay while following the steps provided. This is quite small one, 0.5 inches = 1 cranial unit. I was waiting for my smaller diameter wire to arrive but I thought I would try to get the feel of the clay first with what I have, since I ran out of smaller diameter wires. I am the type who will learn more as I practice, so I think this smaller gesture study help me where to improve or where to push - to get the overall feeling of the piece without bigger commitment. So it does feel like solving problems in achievable manner. Additionally, it's fun to think of the story while doing this, like I was imagine this pose was like blowing a kiss :) Would love to do more as I go on the next video.

Nicely done! that's exactly what these studies are for is learning as you create. The more you make the better you'll get. I hope you do more for sure!

Hello, so far I'm enjoying the assignments!! Decided to attach a hand armature to the wired armature I did before - and oh gosh it was super difficult. The left hand from the photo was my first attempt and the right one was my second attempt. Took me a while to get used to it, but so far been a valuable experience!! Can't wait to try the next assignment - gesture one!

Great job! yes with smaller armatures like this I find the hand armatures can be more trouble than they are worth so usually I'll only do hand armatures for large sculptures (like 1/2 life size or bigger) but great job! Keep it up!

Hello, I decided to practice and make more wired armature, following the basic one and the modified human wired armature. For the "B" armature, I think I got carried away switching back and forth between this video and the previous video that I completely had forgotten to do the other arm haha. But I can always make a new one! More practice :) I think I got a bit overwhelmed in the beginning that I have to do it multiple times to remember. But overall, love lesson in this one!

Looking good! And you can always add a section of wire by tightly wrapping it around the torso for a missing limb or for things like weapons, wings, etc. Love to see the practice!

Hi, first post for the 5$ Sculpture assignment! I used school-grade plasticine that is found at local store (around 1.5$ in my country), and a modified old ballpoint pen with a wire loop on top for the tool. Mostly I focused on the overall gesture and form from all angles- although I realized eventually that the legs are too short. But I'm proud of what I'm making! Can't want to follow the next lesson!

Great first sculpture! Keep going! I hope to see many more of your sculpture studies!

Hey everyone and David, thank you for making this lovely course. I've always liked drawing creatures and I'd love to know how to give more dynamic or life-ness to my creature along the way. In this first assignment, since the primary animal is primate/ape, my instinct tells me to mix it with other arboreal animal, in this case two-toed sloth. Although this is not a concept class for sure, I'd love to incorporate some of the real function of each limbs and apply knowledge from your class. I did my best to draw it from imaginations after doing tooooonsss of studies haha. Really enjoy the class so far, looking forward to the next lessons!

Great start. Just take a step back and try finding more rhythms of the infrastructure less about the contour of volumes
