Hey there! I used red pencil for step 1 and some of step 2, and then finished it off with mechanical pencil for the final step. I'm really happy with how this turned out, though as you can see I feel like a lot could be better or changed. Definitely the eyes were a big struggle, it was hard to place them. Anatomy definitely blinded me from a lot of the simple shapes there, causing me to place things where they weren't and make lines that wouldn't match. Very tough, but I think I did the best I could! Any critique is welcome, excited to see everyone's work!

I really tried to work on my line confidence here, though I can tell some of my proportions were a little far off

Funny little mushrooms with extra funny little doodles

My first assignment! I decided to go with good old mechanical pencil and wooden pencil, as well as some ink brush pens to test out my stroke. All in all, this was pretty hard for me (as you can see from my frustrated doodles on the side), but I'm still getting better! If anybody has any good tips, especially for inking, let me know! If not, just enjoy the silly little doodles.

Hello again! Figured I'd also include my digital work on here at some point. I'm waaaay more of a beginner in digital art (I've only seriously worked with it for two weeks)! I use Procreate as my software, and the brushes I use are all standard brushes you get with Procreate. If anyone has any tips, please let me know! I'm walking into digital art practically blind.

Hello! I figured I would start having fun with my supplies by doing a skull study and some gesture drawings where I added some anatomy; still rough with anatomy, but the journey is fun! The tools I use are incredibly cheap save for the inking markers. My mechanical pencil is the regular BIC 0.5 HB, my wood pencil is a Ticonderoga #2, my eraser is the usual pink rectangle (dunno the name), I don't know sketchbook brand, and my inking pens are the SB and 0.3 size Faber-Castell. My sketches are not perfect, but I had a lot of fun! If you have any critiques, let me know! I'm still experimenting a lot.

Your shapes are awesome! I especially love the lady leaning forward and the bottom skulls.

Those gestures are solid! I like the variation of boldness and thick inking on the skulls, too.

Hello! I wouldn't consider myself a beginner, but I don't know if I'm quite intermediate yet. I still have a lot to learn about lines and values, so any comments are welcome!

I think you have some great things going on here....love the strong jaw line and the shadow shapes. The proportions look right but I'm not an expert on that by any means. I think the background is what is distracting me a little...not sure what it is.
