And here is my CSI for the boots. I really tried to not get into the weeds with this one but it was very hard. The laces really threw me for a loop. But I was drawing with my whole arm I noticed so there is a win!

Here is my CSI of the snail. No shading, very plain, but I think I caught the flow and general shape of the snail.

Hi i looked into your profile and looked at the other pears and you improved quite a lot. They don't look splotchy in the shading departement anymore, so well done!
One thing that i see is that you could capture the form a bit better. The highlights don't go straight down like on your pear, they slighly bend on the picture which would give your pear more of a 3D feel if you would have caprured that.
Keep it up!

Well here it is. attempt 1,2, & 3. First after the video, second after the demo, 3rd after the critique. I think the improvement speaks for itself. Your thoughts and critiques are welcomed.
cheers!
Hello everyone, I did this attempt after my watch of the critique. I think it really is my best yet. Thoughts?

Okay Sean, I see what your missing. You are not comparing values from the reference to your drawing. Remember, squint until all you see is dark and light. everything dark will be in the shadow, and everything light will be in the light. I can tell you are looking at this with your eyes wide open, and searching for values.
I did a sketch of your pear, which you drew pretty well, and did the process to show you how to do this assignment. I hope this makes sense and is helpful :)
This is my attempt after watching the demo and taking other people’s advice. I think it is much better. Let me know what you think.
Thanks!

Hey Sean,
Nice job on the shape of the pear. @h3art is right, about the values, which is the cause of you not squinting at the reference. If you squint down to almost closed eyes, you will see that all the shadows combine, all the middle values combine and the pears local value stands out as the light. Then you add the highlight.
I did a quick drawing to show you what I mean, I hope it helps :)
