To me, it looks like you simplified the values spot on! The only thing I'd suggest is try shading more evenly, especially in the lighter parts of the pear and the background. But I agree, it's a very cool exercise :)

Great job! Finishing stuff is always an accomplishment. Your shadow shapes on the darker part of the 1st picture are well defined and dynamic. The lighter values though look like they could use more variation. On the first one the planes of the darker values are small enough to give a good level of detail, so making the planes of the lighter values have a similar size and level of detail will help even out the drawing. Your line edges are confidently placed, so great job! Line confidence is something I am struggling with :)
