How does Richard and Nerdrum start a painting as a clay and not so much structural lay in? The way they paint is opposite of you and how more of the academic schools teach. Do you ever approach a painting like its a sculpture? Hope this makes sense

can i learn anatomy by just drawing more models? or would i need to study the structural more in dept side of it knowing the names of muscles etc

How indept do you think we need to know about anatomy to draw or paint the human body? Do I need to learn to draw or can I just go into painting the human figure with a basic understanding of drawing?
How in-depth? He mentioned this earlier, you might have some luck going back about 20 minutes!
