Hey @jsg
before you get too caught up in finding a style, you need to work on your drawing skills, then you can stylize your drawings with confidence.
Let me start by saying the head and face are awesome, good job. The rest of the drawing needs gesture, anatomy, proper lighting and a sense of dimension to shapes. I did a quick sketch to show you what I mean, I know it is not in the style that you draw, but you need to focus on your drawing skills, and I hope this helps :)

Hi! I like your linework, I think the proportions of the arm to the rest of the body don't match, so it's not all in one perspective. You could pick a perspective where you're looking at the figure front on by making the arm smaller like in the first image. OR: You could change the rest of the body to fit the perspective of the arm being the closest part to the viewer, by thinking of it as looking up at a tower, this means the placement of the facial features would be a little different as you're looking up at the figure. I hope this helps!
Thank you for your feedback! I'll redraw it on this thread to show the improvement. Thanks so much!

Hello fellow artists I'm Jordan. I am 15 yrs old and this is an artwork I did recently. I am just trying to have my work critiqued and get some advice. I am currently in the Marvel's Art of Storytelling class! So glad to be here.

Hey there, welcome to the community! We're glad you're here :) One thing that really jumps out to me in your drawing is the proportion of this guy's arm to his body and head. It makes me feel like there is a narrative reason why his arm is larger than expected, and it makes me question who he is and if he has any super human abilities and what those would be. Maybe next time you draw this character, you could ask yourself those questions and design with that narrative you develop in mind. Just an idea. Good luck with the Storytelling class and keep posting updates!
Hey guys, I have been trying out new art styles and trying to mash them together into an art style I like. This is a drawing I did and I was just wondering if anyone could critique it. Would love to hear from you guys!

Honestly, I would just look at Takehiko Inoue's Vagabond art. His drawing are so mature in a way that it is realistically stylized. His art has helped me a TON! I used to draw so cartoony but my art has matured while studying his art. Idk if what your looking for is not with Inoue but I know that has helped out me!
P.S. Drawing Adult character also helps a ton to make your art look more mature. Nothing wrong with drawing teens but sometimes I can fall into a more simplistic style with youthful character idk whatever works for you.

Is there a reason you are doing this landscape? Just wondering ;)
