All before the demo video and I like how these turned out! Some proportion issues but not bad!

Got a bit caught up in the weeds but I am proud of them!

I know the feeling, but training the eyes to capture details and then simplify is a good skill to practice

did the snail twice and it certainly got better the second time. I feel good about how I broke them down in general too, and tried to isolate the shapes as I went. My second boot was also better, but I got too detailed in general with it all, or tried too, and didn’t simplify down enough on them. A good exercise in trying to keep things proportional and stock to basic shapes.

Round 2 of the pear, while drawing along with the demo! Much better, and I got the idea much more, which is the point lol. I was switching pencils along the way, but I still think I’m pushing down a bit too hard. My “lightest” tone aside from the highlights are still a bit too dark imo. Regardless….. Progress!

Hello hello!!! I’m getting back into the drawing game and trying to shake off the rust! I really enjoyed this approach to looking at the shapes for light and shadow. It really highlighted that as a big area for me to work on and I’m looking forward to the rest of the course!

Man this was trickier than I thought it’d be! I cleaned up some issues after my first pass and attempt, but it was a good exercise to start training my eye to pick out the muscle groups.
