so the first image is the one I did from imagination, with the second and third they're some of my sketches from observation from pictures! I did the page 2 and 3 ones first to get an idea, but for some reason this is the order that the images upload. They're supposed to be a snow leopard.

Did the Penguin and hand before watching the demo's I'm going to watch the demo's up untill the VR girl before trying that and doing some other animals. Just wanted to make sure if I'm actually being in the right ball park with how things are supposed to go and how the exercise is supposed to be done. Hands are hard as hell!

Yes, you are on the right track! This exercise is training you to use light searching lines to lay in the image. I looks to me like that's what you're doing. You may have gotten a bit heavy handed with the penguin but overall I think your lines looks good.

The biggest issue I found while trying to do the shading in this picture was trying to decide which value was which shade. Was I supposed to keep the underlying colour of the differing fruit in mind or not? In the end I decided against it and just kept light in mind as I chose the shades. Any chritisism would be very much appreciated!

I think I would count that as finished. I might clean up some edges and re-establish some of the edges a bit more by going over them with a bit of pencil again. And look at the stem. But other then that, it looks pretty good for the project.

A part of it is the dream of somehow wanting to make a living through art. But mostly it's because I want to be able to draw anthromorphic characters and I already write quite a bit of fanfiction. And I would like to be able to go from just writing to making a comic.

Nice! I can relate to that. Seeing your written story come to life trough drawings is truly something remarkable. I wish you the best of luck in your journey!

I used the easy assignment image. And here is my attempt. Looking back on it. I think I probably should've darkened the background a bit more for more contrast. And boy, hands and feet are a menace when you're trying to paint. It's just so hard to make them look like they're not random blobs. Any feedback would be very appreciated!

I'm brainstorming at the moment to produce courses, movies, and books on drawing and painting the figure, particularly fantasy figures. Please feel free to suggest what you would like to see from me here, maybe a Q&A for instance.

It could be pretty cool to have something about how to turn a reference into an actual artwork? Like, for example, your Jason and the golden fleece painting? I can see what kind of pose you would've used for reference. But there has to be an entire thought process around it that made you turn the reference into that painting right?
