I am inspired by Steven Zapata's work tremendously! My bad, I mean, my focus recently has been in graphite.

I look at the art of Dark Souls etc and how the director asked for some traditional means etc. I jsut wanted Karla & your opinions!

Hey Karla, I was curious to know: Personally, I've started to stray away from Digital Art and move on towards highly rendered graphite work. Are there certain studios (not necessarily specific) that would deem that kind of medium for concept design acceptable? (I believe that may be a little subjective) I also wanted to know your opinion on the detriment of using traditional mediums used in concept art today.

Hello all! Here is my final submission for the Proko Challenge this month! "Shut-Eye" is my personal Horror Film about the once chronic and irrational fear I had to...go to sleep. Since I was a young teen, I had had a fear of my own mortality. I couldn't handle the thought of knowing what may or may not happen after I was gone. I was so fixated on death, that I would purposely keep myself awake, because I conceived the idea that, when I sleep, I am just wasting part of my life that I could spend awake. Sometimes, I would physically keep my eyes open. I thought It would be striking and provoking to have (using my own hand as reference) the shadowy hand portrayed as an external force keeping me awake, as opposed to my own psyche. I used Photoshop to create the final rendition, including the Graphic Design, but it took a couple of small sketches, studies on how an eyelid would even look the way it did, and an entire inked composition to get it to where it is now. I'm glad I could dig deep for this challenge, and I feel confident that this is the best work I could do to the best of my abilities.

Hi Ian, great job. There is a lot of energy in this piece and I can feel the pain and struggle.

Here are some sketches, thumbnails and finally and inked rendition of my submission. Im just working on the graphic design of the poster and then I will elaborate in fuller detail!

And here are some digital pieces I made when I first started making digital art. One of which I submitted to a previous Proko Challenge!

These are some sketches I'm proud of that I pulled out of my sketchbooks. I love inking and in due time I will share the inked renderings of these ideas!

Howdy! Nice to meet everyone! I rendered this lil' idea for a horror movie about a fear I used to have about falling asleep. (Wild, I know!) It would be lovely to have some fresh eyes double check if, the technical composition and the story within my composition makes sense. Cheers, and nice to meet everyone again!

This is hard to look at! The composition looks good, what i would point out is the blurred effect on the nose-more of that could make the piece even more scarry-thriller-dream-like. LIke the poster form "The Ring" with that semi-blurred circle... Just an idea;)

Wow disturbing! General composition seems ok to me.
