For this assignment I tried hard not to focus on details. I drew the turtle and shoe fast but not rushed. Please comment on both thank you.

This my first time with this portrait I didn’t see the demo yet. Any critiques are welcomed

How does it change when you draw it bigger? Stan mentioned that small drawings don’t allow us to engage the arm and wrist but rather prompt us to use our fingers for drawing.

Hi there, thank you for this great course. Here are my attempts. I cheated a bit and watched your demos first. Any comments are welcome.

So I got motivated and tried also the portrait (pre-demo)..somehow when I finished it was 3h later! not sure if this is an OK amount of time or if I'm just very slow ( I did started by myself the "head and Hands" book a 2 months ago and was trying to get proportions on how to draw heads but learning alone is quite tricky...). Btw, this exercise got me kinda mentally exhausted ..like I feel pretty tired ..haha

Nice work on the pear. You have got the proportions right

Hello everyone :) this is my assignment. First one I drew before watching the demo. The second I drew after the demo. Still needs work 😊

That's some real improvement! I think the biggest point for improvement is the cast shadow. I believe the cast shadow should be darker the closer it is to the form and get brighter and fuzzier the further the shadow is from the actual object. So the part of the cast shadow directly under the pear should be your darkest shade and the edges should be your lighter shade. Here you have it reversed. Great job though and some promising improvement!
