A recent figure I did for my class at Watts. Really love figure drawing. Happy with this one. Still lots to learn!

Hey, nice drawing! Watch out with your proportions (thirds and size of features). Here's a quick vid I made to help you out - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ziqyo9IUseY
@lionbeef777
Hey thank you so much, I greatly appreciate it, super helpful!! I completely free-styled this having no idea what I was doing XD So again I really appreciate the advice and tips, I will keep all of these things in mind for my next drawing for sure!! :D

@mrincongruous I would study the nude figure for this exercise. It can be difficult to tell whats going on when they are wearing clothes and you don't have enough experience to disect whats going on. That being said, my biggest crit on these would be to watch your centerline. In general, follow the seem in the middle of the body that leads to the belly button for front poses, and the spine for back poses. Good job and keep going!
@mrincongruous
Thank you for your kinds words :) For good or ill, I'm going one week on each topic of the Fundamentals of Figure Drawing course by Proko, so I've already passed the Bean stage (though of course I don't think for a moment that I have mastered it or anything of the sort). I might get back to it later though.

Hey Tony! The best way to inject style is to adopt "art parents" as Stan and Martial recommend. Pick artists who's style you want to emulate, wether its in their shape design and calligraphy, composition, colors, etc. Work on studying and copying there work, and you will start to intuitively inject a lot of that style into your work. Eventually it will morph into something of your own as you start to understand why these different artists made these style choices, and you start to create your own style!

Hey Hisham! It’s funny that you and Aline both mentioned the art parents thing. I totally agree and will be focusing my efforts in that area until something comes of it. Thanks for the suggestion! 😁

I really tried the exercise of doing 2 mins gesture, but harshly. I tried to use my arm but I didn’t have any arm control, my arm was all about. Does anyone have suggestions on how I can have more control of my arm when drawing. Thanks in Advance 🥇🧨🥇

Hey ... control comes with time. Its like learning to write. When you start, you are terrible, but with time and repetition it becomes second nature. Its the same as drawing with your arm. Just keep at it.

A recent head drawing I did for my class at Watts! Still trying to study half tones and work with structure rather than being a slave to my reference.

So far I am really trying my best find the line of action and at times I am sad 😔. I just really want to learn how to draw anything from imagination someday but at times I feel discouraged to do so. I would go forward to play games or do more school work instead of studying art. I really would like to work in the gaming Industry some day and I know I need to make this my habite every single day. Thank you everyone for always criticizing me from day one, that means a lot to me because the community I was in before didn’t even mind my work or grown that much. It makes me me feel like someone actually cares about me. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can do to practice art more. Thanks for all critics on what I can do to better gesture🥇🧨🥇

Hey Zach. Great job! Keep in mind the joints between the phalanges and metacarpals are ellipsoids. Here's a quick video to help you out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ul7P4isXXWE

Hey Claire! This looks good. Correct me if I am wrong, but It looks like a copy from Marshall's solution. Try to draw it on your own without looking at the solution first. Thats where the real learning happens: when you struggle with it and then draw from the solution, the information will stick better. Keep up the goo work!

Here is an exercise based on a 3D model of hand (the second). There is something wrong, can you help me?

Good job Ivanna! I did a quick video with some tips. I find videos to be easier to follow than words or even pictures. Here's the link, hope it helps you out! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5MIeIstb-Pk
