Hey all this is one of the hand/arm studies I’ve been working on over the last few days, let me know what everyone thinks! I still need practice with the details in the hands but practice does make perfect!

Hi Dominic, nice tension in the fingers!...reminds me of opening a jar, then one inch punching said jar when it wont open. -I'm super curious, is that a sculpting tool it's mounted on?

I might have got a bit carried away.... ;)
Dominic Miranda
Lol I got a little carried away myself but nothing wrong with that😂

The tips in this video are inspiring and I just ran with it haha thanks for all the helpful information I’m having a blast adding modifications to the armatures, I hope we get the chance to see more in-depth armatures for some of the weapons and props. I made a few armatures today with wings and capes, hope everyone likes and has as much fun with this assignment as I did!

These are awesome! Great job!

These are great, they look solid too (strong)!

Really enjoy this method for building armatures, I love that it’s one continuous piece. Had some left over aluminum from before, wasn’t sure of the gauge tho. I ordered more wired but decided to use all I had to make a few armatures for practice, wanted to do more than one size as well so I’m glad I was able to create so many. Posed a few of the smaller ones with the reference images from the last assignment.

great job! The only thing I'd worry about is making sure the hips aren't too wide. That's something that I've seen a lot and better for it to be too narrow in the hips than too wide. Keep up the great work!

I kind of looked around to see if there was any posts in the 3D & sculpture community where we could share, receive critique and help on anything in general. I didn’t find anything other than making my own new thread, so I thought I’d post it here since I used the reference from the cheap sculpture challenge. Let me know what you all think, this was a sketch I did for a few hours today to study gesture and get my hands more familiar with the medium. Working in this scale I run into difficulties but I’m working thru them with practice. I like how the arms turned out.

This is actually looking quite nice! the gesture and the volume of the body parts all seems nice to me :D

Hey there Andrew! Thank you for all the information, I had a question I was hoping to run by you. I have some older firm super sculpey that’s started to crumble, do you know of any suggestions or tips to salvage any of it?
Andrew Joseph Keith
I’m not that familiar with sculpey because I’ve only used it occasionally so you might see if there are any YouTube videos from people who work with polymer clay on salvaging old clay.

I just wanna say I had a blast with this challenge, it was a wonderful way for me to reconnect with something I had thought I lost years ago. So I’m very thankful for even the chance to get to participate with fellow artists here and I’m looking forward to all the critique and help I can receive through this wonderful opportunity. Ive added a 2 WIP photos(armature and image with my hand)to show my progress over the last week. The other images are the completed piece as well as one image included with all the tools I used. The clay I used was Chavant NSP medium(had an old block lying around) as for tools I mostly used my hands, a very trust paper clip(found this to be extremely useful, even after it broke) and a butter knife. I struggled with capturing details in the face especially at this scale which forced me to redo the head a few times. Overall though I had so much fun with this project and I’m excited to see how this course is gonna help me grow.
