Asked for help
my attempt on an ear. i tried my best to arrange the values properly. hopefully .any feedback is greatly appreciated !
It's so hard to know if the values are correct (for me) in isolation. I need to get a sense of the environment.

Hi Christine! The ear structure looks great. Try to map in the different shadows and think about if the edges are soft or hard. If it's a cast shadow then likely will be harder in edge than the form shadow (aka core shadow). Once you have the ear drawn in and the shadows mapped out then go in and fill in the shadows with a single tonal mass. This helps keep the values organized as we draw. After the single tonal mass is in then add more subtleties to the range of values. This also helps keep the light side separated from the dark side in our thinking and in the drawing. Hope that helps. Good work on the ear! Ears have a lot of forms and cast shadows and so are a great exercise for shadow mapping and organizing values and edges.
