I got really tied up (no pun intended) on the laces. Just trying to determine how to approach them without confusing each lace. Very fun project that I plan to revisit.

I struggled with the same thing!

It looks like you hesitated on the boot laces just like I did haha! Once I started drawing them, I sort of realized they might be a little too detailed and stopped in the name of simplification. Your drawings look great! I'm a beginner so unfortunately don't have much feedback for you..
@claydo
Pre-demo attempts, I started to get into the weeds with the shoe laces and decided to stop in the spirit of simplifying. Interested to see if Proko draws the laces, I was definitely struggling with them with all the shadows and small lace bits going back and forth.

Level 1 Assignment: I wasn't sure how much I should simplify or should include shading like previous assignment. I think I ended up focusing on the details and shading. I also wasn't sure the contour lines should be very visible and outstanding or not. For boots, there are so much complexity, e.g. shoe laces and how the leather deforms and creates shadows, etc.

Your drawings look great! He did mention at the end of the video not to do any shading though :/

Feedback welcome! The first three pears and the portrait I did were before watching Proko's demonstrations. I'm definitely a beginner, but I decided to stretch myself and take a stab at the intermediate project. The portrait took me a long time and was much more difficult for me. It felt good to reach beyond my abilities though! The last pear I did after watching the pear demonstrations and I think came out a lot better than the first three. All in all, I feel like I learned a ton in a very short period of time. Super excited to continue the course! :)
