This is an assignment from the online course I am taking from Watts. This is the first 30 minute master study. Needless to say it took me roughly 4 hours. Working on proportions and patience. Critiques are appreciated.

This is such a lovely master study. Certainly a tough drawing for a line study. The thing that I love most about the original drawing is the directional lines that make up the shading, especially in the cheeks and the beard, as well as the stair-step dark lines that create the edge of the wrinkles in his chin. I think you did a good job with the latter in your drawing, but I'd like to see more of the directional shading.

??? I love the process of being able to check my proportions at the lay in stage. Does any one know how to do this in Procreate or Fresco? Thanks in advance!!

Here’s the penguin. I worked on construction using straight lines then added curved lines. I think mine is a little chubby. 😂🤓

Nice boots! Keep your lines as long as possible. It looks like your lines are getting a little scratchy here. Don’t worry about the details.
Here’s a little demo I made yesterday for this assignment. Maybe it can help you with future drawings.
You did a nice job sticking to CSI lines, they just look a bit scratchy. This drawing has a nice flow to it. Good work! Keep it up!

Here’s the snail. I started with a pencil sketch then inked it. I got a little excited on the shell. Critique’s appreciated. ✌️
I think, you captured the big pictures, there are just small parts like the eyes that need to be a little refined in mi opinion to capture more gesture and expresivity

Portrait with simplified shapes and values. Hard to hold back from rendering to much. But tried very hard. This is digital from procreate with charcoal brushes. Haven’t practiced with this program much but working on it. Critique’s are welcome. Thanks
