My first attempt at the pear. Added some additional shading after watching the video and feel it was better before adding the additional shading. Looking forward to feedback.

This is a great start! Thanks for sharing!
I think the background value muddys up the pear a bit. You can add more contrast to the pear to fix this. Push the values as much as you can.
You did great separating light and shadow with straight, crisp marks, just try to push it more.
