Good Grief Charlie Brown!... This is what this makes me feel - I have been looking seriously into art for about a year, and one of the things I really struggle with is just being overwhelmed by the amount of choice in courses, books, podcasts that I think - that looks really interesting I'll have a go at that... then I go down to my shed for a couple of weeks to work on a sketch or play with some paint, and I come back and think - crikey, how will I ever catch up with what I have missed while I've been working on a bit of output... I'm trying to do the "home style art school" thing, but sometimes just feel like I'll never manage to even scratch the surface with a lot of these ideas... I could spend a year just reading the books that you guys recommend... all this alongside the day job, the family, the dog.... you get the picture...
LESSON NOTES

For Lightbox 2020 this year Stan and Marshall streamed their first live Q&A episode! Rather than release the full version that had awkward pauses and tech issues it’s been edited down and remastered. Now you’ll get a clean experience as they answer a variety of personal and art related questions. Some of what you’ll hear are answers to how the podcast got started, brainstorming techniques for artists, perspective vs form, bad habits for digital drawing, and the story behind our thumbnails.

💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖 It’s so interesting to hear this half way into Marshall’s Composition Bootcamp (I did wonder about the naming and use of the word “bootcamp” so thank you for answering that question, too ☺️🎶). Many things I’ve heard you mention before, like Stan talking about designing the shading, but the words have taken on an additional dimension for me. Goodie bag! Right! I remember downloading it, but then I forgot all about it.
