Hey everybody. I've just posted my submission in the "final submissions thread". I thought I'd include my process here. Included are the initial thumbnail, pencil sketch, rendered monotone, rendered monotone with flat colour, and the final colored render. All work drawn in Clip Studio Paint.
Am painting over an old Canvas. Does the final painting have to be really naturalistic in the end, bc i‘d like to keep it more in planes/simplified? Any advice so far ?
I went and checked Jeff's website and wow I loved those group portraits. They showed a lot of personalities and tension between those people. The idea of which I have never really considered in the designs of my paintings. Maybe it's a good idea to think about it.
Does it have to be based on a reference or can it be from imagination? I'm asking because it says that it will be judged based on likeness, which sounds like we have to submit the reference? Thanks!
