I'm reading the "Drawing on the right side of your brain", and the idea is very similar to yours! I started drawing as a way to relax after work. I work as a Data Analyst and most of the time I'm on the 'left side of the brain', the 'symbolic brain' - drawing just by observation, focusing on the shapes, angles, values etc has been a huge relief after a day of work!
Really excited to learn painting following those ideas!
