When you’re drawing forms and cross contour, analyze if the form is going toward you or away from you. In some of these anatomy studies, I noticed attempts at cross contour with curvy lines without consideration of their direction and height. Also, the large simple form should be visible even when drawing the cross contour of the smaller parts. In this critique, I’ll show you how to start with the cross contour of the primary form and then divide it into the secondary forms.
