Perspective- hinging a tilted edge in perspective

I’m practicing concepts from Marshall’s perspective course. I challenged myself today with a jukebox that is only parallel to the floor and ceiling. The edges that are usually out of perspective because they’re 90 degrees to the horizon line are also in perspective (somewhere on the vanishing trace, I got away without using it).
Now, I wanted to hinge the jukebox window out, but I didn’t know how to set up a square in perspective to make the ellipse it would follow. I just eyeballed it, but this is something I would like to understand!
In summary, how would you set up a square in perspective to track the ellipse that hinging edge would take?
I just occurred to me to drop a line straight down from the hinge point, but how long do I make it so it’s the same length?
What I see when I look at your drawing is a lack of edge width. There is edge width to the top part that is tilted up, but not on the bottom part it rests on when down.
I did a quick draw over to show you how I would do it, I hope it helps :)
