Exhaustion from constructional drawing
2yr

Hi, I attend art school, and we constantly draw from observation with constant measuring, after each such session I just feel exhausted from constant measurements and fixing every little angle, wanted to ask , like, is it normal, haha? Because on the other hand when I draw at home , on a tablet for example, quick sketches or sketch something from photo, it feels completely opposite , it feels like a game and overall nice experience.
(attached last drawing from art school for an example )
I attend this art school for half a year but had some other experience before as well, but overall I'm a beginner ( at least I feel like that)
Measuring is fine, but be aware you're not a scanner: find peace in making mistakes, and be aware that you don't have to be 100% accurate to be good.
I get that too, I think it's more tiring because when observing you're really working your brain to find all these shapes and lines and do things "correctly". It's an active type of learning, while sketching in your spare time is much more relaxed and comfortable and there's no pressure to do things perfectly. It's totally normal, and it just shows you're learning the proportions/shape/shading of what you're studying.
