Hello! So i am very very much an amateur with color. So Im just starting with the basics. No color. PLEASE fire away and give me any and all feedback pertaining to the use of my greyscale or whatever I am attempting to do here. Thanks!

Okay, the way we see things is that the eye is attracted to the area of highest contrast. In your image, my eye goes right to the cape, sleeves, knees and shoes. The face, clothes and skin are all too close in value, so they have no contrast. You want people to see the most important things first, and with a character, that's the face. Then you want them to travel down the figure, taking in all the rest. We do this by distributing the contrast down the figure. I did a quick example to show you how you can do this, I hope it helps :)
