Hi everyone. I did the assignment following Stan along in the video. I am pretty satisfied with the drawing but I want to step up in level. I would love to hear from you experts what shall be my focus to improve. // Greetings from Denmark

Strong portrait drawing Soren, with some nice tonal work. Just a few small things you could consider; the right eye as we look at it (sitters left) seems too high compared to the left eye. There's a slight inconsistency with the angle. Use angle checking to match up the angle of the eyes with the nose and the mouth. That'll help with that. Maybe a slightly darker value on the top lip, and bottom plane of the nose will help to add a bit more depth in those areas. Hope that helps, keep up the good work.

Here are some portraits. My main focus has been lines and proportions. So much to practice and learn. Any critique and Feedback would be much appreciated so I can improve my drawings.

Hi Søren, these look pretty good. You have a good eye for proportrions. The structure of your portraits also looks good. However, i cannot make out if you have done any constructions. Some parts seem to reveal that you have jumped right into it. Either way these look good already. The advice I have for you would be to soften those lines on the forehead. You have done such a good job when it comes to the lines around the mouth. Simply take that over to the forehead as well. My secound advice would be to have a wider range of shades. You show the structure of the face well with the shading especially in the very first portrait. That portrait feels most 3D. However, you are working within the same kind of mid-grey tone. Widen the range of greys you are using. Another thing I have noticed is that you have the eyeballs completely white. This is not the case, as there will be some cast shadow from the eyelid as well as the brow ridge (depending on lighting of couse). You might also want to look into the proko lesson about neck muscles and study the structure of the face (maybe using the Asaro Head for shading reference).
