My name is Kim, and I specialize in drawing and design. Though I am not a beginner, I'm not exactly a master at my craft either. My works are stylized and graphic-like, mainly focusing on human figures and animal portraits. I avoid doing big environment scenes, especially ones requiring any perspective beyond 1 point. It gets very confusing for me if I have to draw entire backgrounds, with many objects varying in size and scale around a character, and it never turns out well. It usually takes forever, and I have to use many references, and I never finish it. With this course, I want to get to a point where I can draw things out from my imagination correctly at whatever angle I choose without relying so heavily on reference. It would bring some dimension and movement to my static drawings. I admire many artists for inspiration, so it is hard to choose. Still, I'll list these for now: Arrasmith (Illustration), Biquis Evely (comic artist), Pablo Hurtado de Mendoza (illustrator/concept artist), and Miquel Membreno (Concept artist for Volta Studio). I like how they use perspective to tell a story with the characters in their world.

Is there a way to salvage a mistake in a painting that is irreversible?

Some notes I took during the live stream. Kept it strictly to 4-5 tones

I came in a bit too late for the live stream so I rewatched it today. Used the block in method, to help me get the correct proportions for the shadow forms. (Hope I am doing this right.)

This is a good idea to group the shadow shapes in your reference, as you did. That's something I should do more of.
