First ones. definitely need more practice. Level 1.

This was hard!!! I definitely need to practice measuring with a pencil more. A beginner, and as Stan stated, "You will make mistakes." Overall, I'm not unhappy with the first try, but overlaying it does help to self-critique oneself.

My first try at basic shapes in pencil before the demo, then following the demo in red. The demo showed me that I need to study the reference photo and pick our the shapes before putting pencil to paper. Practice, practice, practice!

Hmmm. Seems like I am half a year behind. Time to catch up!!

I really need to work on using construction lines, but attempted these drawings by Sorie Kim using a HB pencil. Next project is the bottom two drawings and will attempt to use construction lines first.

I knew line quality was a major issue for me when I got the course, so no surprise I struggled a lot with this assignment. These are the less-bad drawings I managed to get. Not super proud of them, but at the same time I did perform a lot and a lot of tries

For some reason I find it difficult to not erase the lines that are wrong (I put the eraser away). I drew very lightly with a 4H pencil and then darkened the lines I wanted. More practice with simple loose lines is definitely in my future!

The boots. This one was difficult. Attempting to use sketch lightly then re-sketching the lines where I think they should go….harder than I thought it should be. I need more practice with the flowing C and S curves.

The Snail. Difficult to keep from adding more detail, but freeing at the same time, as you can recognize the sketch as a snail.

After I read on facebook that proko want us to try the assigment again after his example video i thought Ill do that. But with another portrait because I easily get bored if i draw the same thing to many times. Hawkeye.
