Hello Protatoes,I agree with Grace_Mounce,I think you captured a nice fluid pose. The bottom middle drawing I think is the best example of this.If I have to give a critism (and this is probably my personal answear for what to keep in mind when gesture drawing)Is that some of these feel very flat, they seem to not have a dimension to them(I think the top right and bottom second from left is the biggest guilty of this.) Here is a quicksketch by Glen Keane, observe the line on the buttock and how it seemed as if it's overlapping one another. Also observe the curving line on the spine and back muscle, these simple landmark lines gives the body a sense of volume and depth Here is a longer example by Eliza Ivanova,I want you to observe the 4 lines wrapping around the chest. These cross contour indicating the bones create a sense of volume giving the body a 3 dimensional feeling (Now that I think about it,it would also be good for you to learn landmark of the body as it will allow you create opportunity to make natural cross contour) Well that's all I got,I'm sorry that this became kinda long (Hopefully this wasn't all a waste of time >_<)but please keep practicing, you are doing a solid job! (Also I suggest practicing more line quality and having more control of the pencil)

Hi i've done this one before i read your thoughts about my gesture i wonder if this looks better than the last one i made. i feel like i've captured some of the poses flow and some are not.

Hi @protatoes, your username makes me smile :) I like your gesture drawings--really fluid linework! And that figure on the bottom right--I can really feel that they're putting their weight on that box. I like the center line you've got going through a few of these, too. I'm thinking the one on the top right could use a nice, fluid center line. Your outlines look great--they look like Stan's gestures in the Proko videos! May I suggest, since the outlines are already good, that if you find yourself thinking about contour while you're doing gesture drawings, perhaps shift your focus to where the figure is putting their weight, or maybe even try to feel the pose in your own body as you sketch (maybe you already do this--as for me, I've had times where I was too concerned with outlines, but then again my outlines have always been a little messy). I'm also sort of new to gesture drawing, so it's just my two cents. But weight and feeling the pose are two things that I think are good to keep in mind for myself. I hope you keep up the great work!
