Hey Basics students. I'm quite sick, probably flu, so the next lesson is a bit delayed. If you're looking for something to do, I would recommend researching some old master painters and illustrators and doing 3-value studies. I was going to announce it with the next lesson, but it'll be useful now, so please check out: https://proko.com/values It's essentially the gradient map tool in Photoshop but made much more convenient and some additional features. It's something I hacked together in a day so apologies if there are any bugs. I'll have my dev team remake it professionally later. Let me know your thoughts.

Flu is no fun. Hope you feel better very soon!

My favorite part of this exercise was just finding a bunch of cool new art artists I didn't know about before.

That's what I loved too ! And seeing how they make the drawings look more interesting with different types of lines. Now I look at them differently. You did it great!

Liked this assignment. Definitely some info I hadn’t really considered before.
@procyonlotor
Not sure I understood the assignment the first time around so did three more after watching the critiques. These were fun but definitely still challenging for me to be conscious of stroke quality. Feedback appreciated as always.

Fun exercise! I maybe went too simple with the portrait having now watched the demo. Not entirely happy the value range I got but here are my first attempts.

im probably not level 2 but going for the challenges anyway. Appreciate any feedback.
