Before starting the challenge, I thought, "Ah, it will take 30 minutes to do", but I spent 66 minutes shading this. I always struggle with the halftone part and the shape of the form shadow. I'll try two or three more challenges later. Feedback is always welcome!

Level 2 challenge: 27 minutes, 10 minutes, 5 minutes I feel all three lack value difference between the highlight and the light area around it. Anyway, I should focus on the level 1 challenge with unlimited time until I get used to all essential elements on the sphere😅 Later, I'll try the Level 1 assignment again.

Thank you for the series of videos. I'll make my own piece with the process Bryce shown.

I tend to spend too much time in this phase and end up exhausted. In the flat coloring stage, many mistakes are spotted that I couldn’t notice earlier, like boring or dirty lines and proportion/anatomy/perspective issues. When I find something bad, I have to go back to the line layers and fix them one by one. The only real solution is probably to improve my fundamental skills.

Wow, this course offers more lessons than I expected when I purchased it three years ago. Like Drawing Basics course, it has taught me a wide range of skills and knowledge that I couldn't gain on my own, (I also can't believe it's been almost three years since the course started already😅) I can't want what will come in this level 2 section.

2025/1/31. Good morning everybody. This is a series of illustrations a friend of mine commissioned to me for his language school. Student are supposed to look at the scenes and try to tell the story. I didn't use references pics. The characters are from my imagination. Thanks for any comment or critique. Have a good week end.

It's amazing. Every piece clearly shows what people are doing, where they are, and their emotions. My only critique is that it took me a few seconds to realize that what the dog snatched was a roasted chicken in the 8th picture.

Thank you so much for the feedback, Jeremy! You helped me realize my weak point, and wow, what you did incredibly improved my work. I'll keep working hard to get better!

Yay! I'm so glad it was helpful

Thank you for the critique! I wanted to keep my paintings realistic for the assignments, but I struggled to interpret reality. That is why what I made looked abstract in the end. The instruction helped me understand how to observe lights and colors. Now I'm going to check out the videos you posted on YouTube!

I’ve got some big news! My family just welcomed our third child! It was a bit of an early surprise, but we’re all doing great. Basics students - With this change, the next three months might run a little differently. I’ve built up a backlog of content to keep things moving, but there might still be an occasional gap. If a week goes by without new material, just know it’s temporary. Things will get back to normal soon. Thanks for your patience as I adjust to life with three kids and gives some attention to my little one. In the meantime, keep practicing, revisit older lessons, or share your progress with the community. I appreciate all of you. Thanks for being such a supportive group!

I tried the value tool a bit and it's so helpful! It's much easier than Photoshop.
