added comment inNeck Assignment Example 5
Asked for help
I have a question. Doesn’t the splenius capitis have the same insertion point as the sternomastoid, therefore the sternomastoid should be overlapping the splenius capitis? Even in the 3d model the sternomastoid is overlapping splenius capitis. Then why in Stan’s drawing they are drawn beside each other? He didn’t just do it in one pose, he did this also in neck assignment example 2.

Which one you say is the splenius capitis in your drawing?
I see that the sternocleidomastoid overlaps it there. And it does also in Stan's drawings. So both are correct.
The one that is drawn beside it here is the trapezius muscle. Or am I wrong...??

Hello! Please could you explain what the muscles circled are? Additionally I am confused why there is not a triangular shape between the sternal and clavicular head? Perhaps I'm reading the drawing wrong!
wassup bro. i think i can answer the question for you
first image
- the small triangle at the topmost edge (left) of the circle you made is the semispinalis capitis
- the shape next to it is the splenius capitis
below the splenius is the levator scapulae, its supposed to connect to scapula but it got covered by the traps
- and then the shapes below that is the scalenius medius, their like three muscles so remember that
second image
- i think he just didnt include it
im a bit late answering your question, so i think you know the answer already but just in case il post this
