My son asked to do a great white shark. Here are the inspiration photos, and the wildly different approaches we took to the assignment. Frankly, I'd rather hang out with his shark than mine, I think he did a better job of reading the assignment, lol.

My son and I have been drawing cartoons off of YouTube videos for almost a year now. Time to step up our game. Today marks the start of that journey. He did two studies, I'm showing mine. I'm trying to get him to rethink his approach, this is all very uncomfortable for him. Just seeing the image for it's parts and taking his time are two big goals here. We will try again. As for me, I feel like I got the proportions and shapes, but need general practice and repetition to get my stroke and pressure under control. Next time I will try working with different pencil (2h, hb, 2b, 4b) instead of just the one pencil (blackwing 602). I am very open to any thoughts, help, criticisms, etc.
