hey there! Wanted to say that you honestly did a fantastic job (the bottom right one is my favourite), the only critique I have is that you could have pushed the line of action a bit further with the standing one

i’ve been drawing gestures almost daily the past few weeks and feel like i’ve not been improving much in recent sessions. here are some from yesterday’s practice, all critique is highly appreciated!!!

Not really an expert, but I really love how bendy and lively your lines are, especially in the poses in the second photo! It really makes the poses look alive.

Here is my go at 2 min gesture drawing! I am struggling super hard with keeping proportions and my lines in check and I also chicken scratch pretty hard. Any comment is appreciated!

Those are pretty close to what my first gesture studies looked like. Try doing 20-30 of these everyday, don't rush yourself, even if you don't hit the 2 minute mark it's all good (but don't make it 5 minutes either!). I did it that way for about a week and saw a big improvement. Also check out the Bean (lesson 2) as it helps very much with getting used to the torso proportions. Have fun with it and try to not be too hard on yourself - as Stan put it in the video - gesture is really hard and it takes a long time to get good at it.

I’m not expert myself but you should just keep up the practice but I think you should also try out the bean from Prokos figure drawing course to get a better sense of the relationship between the rib age and pelvis. For line quality I recommend looking into lesson 1of Drawabox there’s a lot of exercises there that are for line quality and dexterity and best part is that it’s free! Have a nice day :)
