Still in phase 1 I included a list of my ideas on the creature I think i like to show it over the canopy, to gater the fruits. The fruits are goin to float over the trees that is why the creature need to float to take them.. neext i am going to do the final drawing . Hope to have a little bit of mouvement and life like feeling in it like you try to teach us ... :)

Stage 1 ... some exploration on animals with "bubble" parts(fish bird) and different kind of apes/primates (mostly baboon). Some tests of combinations.

Interesting I admire you thinking out of the box. The thought is great but implementation isnt reading as well. I just think the gland idea becomes a little foreign to the viewer despite being correct. Ask yourself how can I make this part of the design in a more appealing way. Is it used as a defense mechanism- like a blow fish? And maybe its around the gullet of the ape like some birds. I look forward to seeing how you take this further.

Hello! A studies of both portraits and figures. Of the bat. I tried to do diversity in the viewpoints (or point of view?) . Next the chimera ! I hope I'm on the good track.

My ape muscle studies. First drew the bigger shapes with marker and then went over with ink pen studying more closely the muscles. The ones in the bottom row of each page, as well as the pencil one, were done out of my head.

Awesome! I like the movements feeling.

Have done more studies for my confidence ! Here are some.

Another study from the masters. This time I used characters I love from movies (Oz and Labyrinth) and from one of my favorite artist Jean-Claude Mézières (Valérian). I did squelette from memory. Sooooo hard! My fellow learners, you have to try this. it's a good exercice...

Nice but pay attention to volumes and weight. Youre losing some essential form and surface area of the understructure- dont just copy but analyze and problem solve. The pose in each final model conveys weight so the study should do the same.

Another study of the muscles over the skeleton in different poses.

As suggested I drew from my imagination to test my knowledge. I myself see the improvement since the beginning of the course, so it is SO motivating. A BIG thank you to you and the Proko team. Now I will continue to practice!

It is an interesting exercise. I tried to make lines more gestural (looser). For the moment I have not worked on other angles, but that will come. It's so much fun to study beautiful creatures like these!!! I LOVE seeing the work of other students, it's stimulating!

Nice job on these. Very diagrammatical and clear. I like seeing the flow youre finding too. It does get a little too simple at some points indicating knowledge not fully there but it will come. Good job all around- This will help your personal design work.

This is so fun ! I will redo this more . It feels messy, but I know it will be better with practice !
David Colman
Messy is okay when its all about learning. Youre not here to make pretty drawings but to learn and understand how to create poses on your own. Draw from the inside out- skeleton to superficial forms. Not the actual bones but think of how the skeletal structure when the monkey is hanging. In one to two lines draw the rhythmic bend and flow then build volumes on top of that.
