My first try at portrait drawing. It was actually more fun than I have ever expected any classical art to be. I definitely suck at doing shapes with values, not just lines. I am very late to it and I already know some proportions are bad, like the space between her eyes and the overall length of the face. How do I not panic while measuring? I always think like something is wrong even though I am using measuring techniques that Stephen is using? Thank you Stan and your team for doing art education more accessible!

Hi @mikolaszko you did such an incredible job for your fisrt portrait!! and about the panic in the process, i suggest you to get in a confortbale state and just enjoy the process of learning, allow you to fail and not worry about having a beautifull piece every time, and with the mileage for sure you will adquire confidence and capturing the proportions will become way more easy! good job :)

Thank you for a wonderful drawing demo ! It was such an informative experience to see an artist like Stephen to draw in real time. And his comments and Q&A were all really enhancing. Being a beginner, I was astonished to learn a 3 hours-sketch is a "quicksketch". I realized I spent so little time and energy for drawing so far, which resulted in so little improvement in my drawing. I will work harder to improve from now on ! I look forward to next live demo !! Thanks again !

i felt the same way about the "quick sketch" term . and your drawing turned great! really aprecciated your shadow shapes and simplifications, for critique i only suggest to keep checking you angles and proportions on the early stages, like for example, i think you eyebrows angle are tilted a litlle bit more for the up left corner, and in the model it seems tillted for the up right, but overall you did an awesome job! keep going :)

I am ridiculously late posting this, but after the stream, I noodled and noodled some more.  Anyway, this was a lot of fun.  I love portraiture.  Thank you Stephen and Proko!   I didn’t go for super realistic color.  Pretty much just whipped around a soft round brush on a multiply layer, to see what would happen.    Please feel free to offer any advice or comments. I don't think the likeness is quite there. And looking back, I would probably have tried to do something a little more creative with the color and brush strokes. Have a good one everybody. Looking forward to the next stream.

you captured really well the general proportions and the feeling of the model! i also liked the warm and cool tones in the background. Excited about the next streams too!

My attempt to this class, i've absorved so much knowledge into these 3 hours! thank you soo much Proko and Sthephen for providing this awesome content for free! I tryed my best in the drawing, i havent done a "long" drawing like this for quite a while. I struglled a lot with the eyes and mouth, and i think i added so much saturation into some areas, but happy with the learning i've got from it. I'm really excited about the proko 2.0!!! so happy to be part of this beggining!!

This is super good. The eyes gave me a lot of problem too. Your shading is buttery smooth. Great job!
