such a cool Japanese print. I started out as all one weight and then started to apply the higharchy of lines. Wanted to concentrate on foreground then use light lines for minor details. Comments are appreciated.

Pretty fun assignment. Any feedback welcome.

I'm really rusty after a long break from drawing regularly. Getting back into it now and this is my 2 minute gesture practice for the day!

Love the flow and how your lines are so deliberate but se like water. I think you hit the nail on the head. Going to come back and look at these again.

I tried to study angles by using only Straight lines, as suggested by lovelifedrawing. Didn't really go as expected, I either need to dramatically reduce the amount of lines or find way more dynamic poses for this exercise. Also attached, a quick 2 minute practice session

I like your take with straight lines. Kinda fun. Both sets look great. Have good steady line work and great flow. Love what you putting down!

Hi, Complete beginner here. I just started the Drawing Basics course and instead of the pear, I chose to draw guava that I had in the fridge :-) It is far from being a piece of art but hey…. Everyone needs to begin somewhere, right? All comments, advices are welcome. Have a nice day!

I am an engineer by trade and struggle with the same issue. I just started a month ago and had to talk myself off the perfectionist ledge. Give yourself permission to be ok with imperfections. It’s your sketchbook and it’s a journey you don’t have to share anything you don’t want to. It’s pretty liberating once you break yourself out of negative talk and are just happy about the journey of drawing. I suck at it, but it’s ok. My drawings a month ago are way worse than my drawings yesterday. It’s cool to start seeing improvements. Hope this help! Keep it up!

Agree with this completely. Also, as you said, keeping a record of your past works to compare to the present day really helps, as there is concrete evidence of improvement. The other thing that helped for me was giving myself permission to just throw out a drawing that I was really unhappy with. It helped free up my mind a bit and let me just dive into a new drawing without worrying about the result.
