The point is to draw without guidance to easier see what can be worked on to make us better artist! And all drawing is good drawing, nothing is pointless, even doodles:) I think you did a decent first try at this, you will make good progress fast if you try to see these practises as an opportunity rather than pointless :) Keep working!
