The advice to draw before learning to draw kills me! It seems so backwards! I mean as a kid I didn't mind drawing terrible drawings but I didn't know they were terrible then!

Let's filll that sketchbook!
For now I'm using a Canson sketchbook, 90 gsm, should be fine for pencil and the fineliner hasn't bled through either. I had this lying around unused, so this will be the first one used for this course.
Also plan on using some printer paper for the warmup exercises maybe.
Asked for help
My pear may be a bit wonky as I have a tendency to freehand everything, but thought I'd go for it and give the pear a try. :). It's definitely not as easy as one would think. sheesh. Spent about 1 1/2 hours and thought I'd quit before I over did it. Maybe I didn't go far enough. P.S. Not sure why it's saying "Asked for Help" Obviously I'm hitting the wrong button...sorry. :(

I think I'll be doing the course mostly in analog for now, I do have a tablet, but currently I enjoy the tactile feeling of drawing with pencil. Got myself a few fineliners as well to try out. I guess Ill be adding a few things as we progress through the course, but holding back on buying the markers.
Tried out shading a sphere with my materials and then doodling a bit from imagination (castle on the floating islands) and did a sketch of my hand. I need to develop my patience, since I tend to go too fast and the result is of course shetchy rather than 'polished'.

I believe this is getting ahead of myself, but am really looking forward to improve my drawing skills this year.
