In this demo, I focus on drawing figures that look like they're coming at you. I start with the part that's closest and really emphasize the 3D shape and foreshortening without using construction lines. I'll talk about how I shade to add depth and make it look real, especially in those tricky foreshortened areas. I also explain how to balance detail and how to keep it simple when sketching, giving you a peek into how I draw. Enjoy!

Here's a portrait drawing demo we filmed at Lightbox with Eliza Ivanova. Eliza talks about developing your own style. She skips construction lines and goes straight for the final lines using a mechanical pencil and blending stump, mixing realistic shading with stylized silhouettes.
