Asked for help
Dear Stan Prokopenko and the Proko Team,
I hope this message finds you well. My name is gimmy_cole(my nickname ), and I’m reaching out from Myanmar with a humble request from my heart. I’ve been a huge admirer of your work and the incredible lessons you share on Proko and YouTube. I’m writing to ask for a chance to learn from you, starting from the very basics, as I dream of becoming a digital artist and following my passion for drawing again.
I haven’t drawn for a long time because life as a Myanmar citizen has been a struggle, and I’ve been caught up in challenges that took me away from art. During that time, I wasted a lot of my days feeling lost and unmotivated. I never had the opportunity to attend formal art classes, so I tried learning through YouTube videos, but I often felt bored and didn’t practice well. However, seeing other people my age become successful digital artists has reignited my desire to draw again. I feel inspired, but I don’t know where to start properly because I lack the fundamentals of drawing. Most of the artwork I’ve done. like the photos I’ve attached was created a year or more ago, often using grids because I struggle with structure and technique.
I promise that if you give me a chance to learn from Proko(premium course), I will dedicate myself fully. I’ll draw regularly, follow your lessons step-by-step, and work hard to rebuild my skills and chase my dream of becoming an artist. I truly believe your guidance can help me start fresh and grow in a way I couldn’t on my own.
I’m so sorry if my message seems rude or unprofessional. I’m very nervous because I’ve never written something like this before, and I’m both excited and anxious to imagine how you might reply. I also want to mention that I don’t have strong fundamentals, but I’m eager to learn them from you. The photos I’ve attached are my past drawings, and I hope they show my potential, even if they’re not perfect.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this, Sir, and for all the amazing resources you’ve already shared with the world. I really appreciate any opportunity you might consider giving me to learn from Proko.

Hello Gimmy,
I am here to help the Proko students, and I will try my best to help you out here. Im sorry to hear about your struggles. That must be difficult and frustrating. Art requires a calm, quiet place to work. It’s very difficult to maintain consistent practice without that.
Proko has a ton of free content on YouTube. It’s how i learned for several years before I could afford any classes. The internet provides a endless amount of free educational content.
You can also post here and learn from other students. Tag me with @Rachel Dawn Owens to get critiques from me. Il help how i can.
It looks like you have already attempted the pear assignment from Proko.
If you look through the images I've uploaded on my Proko profile page you can find all sorts of demos and tips I've given to other students.

The artist journey is different for everyone. Sometimes the most difficult ones can create the greatest, most unique works.
You have a really strong eye for detail. Your drawings look amazing. You're someone who could get really good really quick with some discipline.
Start with a practice of just 5 minutes a day. Study simple objects from life with a single light source.
Post your work here in a community thread and we can help you learn.
I took what was my favorite drawing in your collection here and drew over it to show you how close you are to something amazing already. All you need is some edge control and lighting fundamentals.
Practice separating light and shadow.
