Thank you for this competition. It’s been fun. I’m looking forward to doing it again.
@una
my clay dried too fast and cracked all over but I enjoyed sculpting this

I’m sorry about your cracking problems. Then, as if to rub salt into the wound, I was going to tease you about the position of the armature. (It looks a wee bit uncomfortable) Then I started to see some possible advantages in the casting process. I’ll have to think about that.

I tried to send a .mov but it wouldn’t take
@joto
Hello, here is my next one ready for comments and critiques. Reference is Felicia 004 from posesspace.com. Thank you

I would just bring her left leg in closer or even directly under her center of balance. It would be a little more dynamic that and it shouldn’t be that hard to do. Just my suggestion.

This is a painted Hydrostone sculpture

One question I’ve never heard anyone address. I’m working on a sculpture now that has some deep undercuts. I ended up turning it upside down to get at the hard to reach places between the neck and hair and other such places. That meant having to redo a lot of the details where I was resting it. I thought about leaving it outside for a night so the clay was firmer but I didn’t. Would that work? Any other suggestions?
