I struggled a lot with this one, this is actually my third attempt at this over the past few days and one that I'm finally satisfied with. Probably the assignment I enjoyed the least out of all of em so far. Though having said that I did enjoy it a bit more after I changed my technique. I mostly, after putting in a few first measurements like the vertical fifths, eyeballed it. I found it much more enjoyable (and effective) to eyeball a bunch of bits in and then just correct them after the fact. I did a little bit of checking my work with overlaying it in Photoshop so there is a bit of erasing and correcting. Bit messy in the cravat(?) too. Anyway, good result in the end I feel!

Thank you for the detailed description of your process. It helped me :D

I looked at a lot of amaizng artists. In the end I found the time for those studies of drawings by Franciso Vasquez Eliza Ivanova Edward Hopper This is so much fun. I could just stop here for my drawing and just do studies forever. I am so happy and relaxed while doing it. But I am curious what more drawing has to offer.

Thank you for your nice words. Made my day. Hopefully I can one day just create something 5% this nice from scratch.

I am a total beginner, so I really struggled to get in this mindset. But there were moments, where I started to get more the feeling of line I needed to draw (not even the visualising stuff). For me this was a huge step. I guess a lot of people have this breakthrough in Kindergarten, but well... It feels nice. I still feel bad for what I did to the poor little penguins feet.

It was very tough at first. Damn, my hand didn't do what I wanted it to do. But it got a bit better from the second snail on. I will focus on that. And working out before drawing was really bad for my lines (haven't even finished that one). (@angelicaa): Ghost it in, visualize, execute one nice stroke with good speed.

That was fun and I can see some improvent, which is nice. Maybe I bit off more than I can chew with the bananas. At times I was struggling to see what I had in mind drawing some lines. It was a bit to complex for me. But some of it came together while shading. I think I will try this exercise again in a month or so. Along the way I found a little more confidence in finding shapes and especially the 3rd and 4th darkest value looked more similar to each other in the beginning.

If you have any critique (especially from the 3rd pear on) I would be very thankful.
