Right now my inspiration is coming from the other artists here on Proko who are putting in the time to get better. Seeing other artists work hard to develop their craft keeps me motivated and helps me feel less alone in my own creative journey.

I'll second that!

A couple pages of my 30 second gesture poses so far. Any help appreciated!

You did a good job capturing the gesture in 30 seconds! And I like that you did a lot of different and complex poses. As a newbie to all of this myself, I can't provide a ton of guidance but the one thing that stuck out to me was that one some of them, the legs seem to be separate from the rest of the figure. For example in the upper right corner of the first set, try maintaining flow from the torso into the legs. It's something I struggle with in my own gestures drawing as well. Connecting the torso to the legs in poses that are facing straight on the front or back of a figure has been a challenge. Copying Stan's versions of those types of poses seems to be the most helpful for me in getting it to piece together in my brain, might help you out too?

Here comes my first submission on the bean. If you ever wondering why I'm using fine liner it is because I'm practicing the philosophy of drawabox.com to not hide your mistakes. So, please feel free to critique! Wish I knew for instance how to make those look more "design" according to Stan's comment in the latest bean video.

I like how many different combos of lean/twist/tilt you got in your examples! I'm new to the whole bean concept but I think you and I might be having a similar issue with our lines of action. Some don't quite fit the flow of the bean, if that makes sense? Like the poses where the figure is really curled forward. Its tricky!

Here is my first set of beans. These are all from the Mallory poses and the numbers correspond to the pose file numbers. I struggled with the line of action when there was foreshortening and twisting. I think I might be making my beans too elongated as well?
Jeffery Plummer
Allison, these beans are great. The 'elongated' aspect is what your eye adds to keep it workable in your mind. I can see the gesture in these bean drawings. Beans NEVER go away. After taking many months off from this course, it is 'back to the beans' for me as a refresher. More beans please!

Here are some of my 30 sec and 2 min drawings. I feel like my 2 min drawings improved once I gave myself more space and worked larger. I really struggle with the transition between the torso and legs so any tips on this would be very much appreciated!
